| John Hands (ex-SCD) Website: Sanford Conference/ Photos John Hands was the author of "Housing Co-operatives" and a major player in the golden-age of co-operatives in the '70's. John is an inspiring speaker, who took us through the story of the rise and fall of the housing co-operative movement in the 70's. The story started with the fight to establish Sanford Housing Co-operative, trying to gain the support of the Housing corporation, Parliament and Lewisham Council and ending with the attempt by the Corporation to sideline decentralised, independent housing models. John's vision of Primary Co-ops supported by Secondary co-ops was explained. | or DOWNLOAD | |
